Drawing & Painting assignment (due 11/5/18):  Botanical Water Color Painting with Zentangle Designs New assignment, introduced in class today: Printmaking with Linoleum Block (Lino-cut)

1st block, 3-D: Science Fiction architecture-inspired sculpture Medium: cardboard, paper, spray paint 3-D students just finished these pieces inspired by buildings depicted in Science Fiction imagery. emphasis: positive and negative space, as well as symmetry vs. asymmetry. 2nd & 3rd block, VA Comp: Students are studying color theory . Medium: tempera paint Students use only primary colors to create all of the colors on the wheel. They also learn complementary colors, intensity scales, and values and tints. Coming up this week: More color theory with emphasis on color schemes. Medium: colored pencils 4th block, Drawing & Painting: Students are focusing on value, and they just finished these paintings using black, white, and at least 3 mid-range values.
